Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July
The Heineken Race to the Tower is a two-day Ultra Marathon (52.4 mile) event, with the option to pick a single day. Day one leads from Stroud to a central basecamp location. Day two picks up with a second marathon route finishing at Broadway Tower.
What better excuse do you need to indulge yourself with a stay at The Broadway Hotel than the successful completion or one or two marathons? Day two leads to and through the Cotswold with a 3329-foot elevation. It’s a testing route, although at least there are no mountains in the Cotswolds – the hills famously ‘roll’ so you’ll find the route leading up and down with the finale being the spectacular viewpoint of Broadway Tower. Previous participants describe the route as ‘fantastic’, as they experienced landmarks such as Hailes Abbey and the Devil’s Chimney close up and personally and they also say that they will never forget the final approach to the 18th century Tower at Broadway, with its spectacular views over 16 counties (on a clear day).
